Hello, this is Tim Barrett. I'm on vacation so that's why I have this t-shirt (on), I've not shaven today,...and I have a bird on my shoulder.

So... This is Nickie. Hey, Nickie. Step up! Step up! Come on! No? No, he's going to [gonna] bite me. Oh, he wants me to scratch his head. Awww.... Here, step up! Step up! Here. Step up! Step up! There you are! Step up! And here, step up on my shoulder. There!
@>---- on vacation = de férias

@>---- bird = pássaro
@>---- shoulder = ombro
@>---- step up, phrasal verb = dá o pé (literalmente, "dê um passo para cima")

I have a tip for the New Year today. This I thought was kind of cool. I hope you like it. (Here, Nickie. Stay over here so people can see you [ya]. Over here!)
@>---- tip = dica
@>---- kind of = meio, um pouco
@>---- cool = bacana
@>---- over here = neste lado
His name's Nickie because we bought him on Christmas Day. And Saint Nicholas is a name for Santa Claus, so we called him Nickie. I mean, we didn't buy him (on) Christmas Day, but our kids got him on Christmas Day.
@>---- Santa Claus = Papai Noel
@>---- got = receberam, pegaram
[Phone ring.] Someone get the phone! (Come on, Nickie. That's it. Stay here. Stay here.)
@>---- get the phone = pegue (atenda) o telefone
@>---- That's it = É isso mesmo
Ok, here's my idea: Why don't you write a journal in English every day? But not just a regular journal. Here's what you should do:
1. Write at least one sentence, or word, or expression, or phrase in your journal each day.
@>---- at least = pelo menos
Now here's where the catch is...
2. Tie in that word, or expression, or phrase with something that's happening in your life that day or some aspect of your life that day.
@>---- catch = truque, condição
@>---- tie in, phrasal verb = conecte, associe
@>---- happening = acontecendo
So make it like a real journal, writing something about your life every day, but also learning English at the same time.
@>---- at the same time = ao mesmo tempo
And number 3, and this is important...
3. Don't get bogged down with it.
@>---- bogged down = "atolado" em informações, desanimado com alguma atividade por conter muitos detalhes e ser difícil de fazer

You can write only one sentence, if you want, or one phrase, one expression, or just one word - anything! One word that reminds you of that day. But just do something every day. Don't get bogged down with it.
@>---- reminds you = te lembra
Ok? That's it! Say goodbye, Nickie! Say goodbye! [whistle, kisses] Nickie, say goodbye! Bye bye! See you later! Have a great 2010! Bye bye!
@>---- whistle = assobio
@>---- kisses = beijos
