Hi Tim! How is it going?
Did you know that: The Brazilian national network of highways is the second largest of the world. It is almost 2 million km long, with approximately 200,000 km of them paved, as of 2004. The name given to highway in Brazil is "rodovia" (expressway connecting two or more cities, or a far and important location, passing to an area outside any urban area, is the specification of "rodovia", in Brazil).
Thereupon I got hold up in trafic jam every day when I'm going home!

The worse thing for those who live in S.Paulo is going to the beach on Carnival holidays because the traffic is always held up.Some time ago I went with children and we got stuck in the traffic for 8 hours, thursty and hungry, under 37 degrees. It was awful. |

Thank you for your participation, everyone! Thank you for the cool facts, Sérgio! Sure, Fábio, feel free to link to our site. I know you will give us due credit. I appreciate it.
In the video, when the police officer says that the tractor is "running sort of hot", Gabriela, he is saying that the tractor is (literally) "correndo meio quente". That means that the tractor is overheating (esquentando). |

Hello Tim,
The last time traffic was held up in my city was on September 7. Because we celebrated the Independence Day, a holiday, so I needed to pass by the main avenue in Rio de Janeiro- Presidente Vargas Avenue, so I was held up for more than 40 minutes, the military parade was just that moment celebrating the event. It was really a busy day!
Have a great weekend.
Hugs.

I've been held up in traffic every day. The traffic is always jammed on my way to work.
Worthquote:
To hold up also means to steal something from someone.
Take care. |
